卦辞
亨，利贞，可小事，不可大事。飞鸟遗之音，不宜上宜下，大吉。
Success. Perseverance furthers. Small things may be done; great things should not be done. The flying bird brings the message: it is not well to strive upward, it is well to remain below.
宜小不宜大，过在谨小慎微而非冒进。

山上有雷，小过；君子以行过乎恭，丧过乎哀，用过乎俭。
Thunder on the mountain; the noble one gives preponderance to reverence in conduct, to grief in bereavement, and to thrift in expenditure.
此卦于十事
- 事业WORK
- 宜小不宜大，过在谨小慎微。可小事不可大事，此卦明讲：现在不是做大动作的时候。
- 感情LOVE
- 宜低调用心。行过乎恭，态度上多一分客气，此时不会过头。
- 财运MONEY
- 小额可为。飞鸟遗之音不宜上宜下，往低处走比往高处冲安全。
- 健康HEALTH
- 用过乎俭，此时节省一点、简单一点对身体有益。别追求高强度。
- 学业STUDY
- 做小而确实的进度。密云不雨，成果还没显现是正常的，继续累积。
- 考试EXAM
- 注意小细节。粗心是这一卦最大的失分点，考完务必检查。
- 人际PEOPLE
- 丧过乎哀，此时多一分体恤是对的。人际上宁可过于周到。
- 抉择CHOICE
- 只宜小决定。弗过防之，该防的先防，别冒进。
- 出行TRAVEL
- 不宜远行。飞鸟以凶，此卦明说飞高有险。
- 寻失物LOST
- 在低处、小地方，别往高处找。小过宜下不宜上。
六爻爻辞
飞鸟以凶。
The bird meets with misfortune through flying.
飞鸟以凶。鸟一飞就出事。此爻是小过卦的总纲：这个时候往高处去就是凶。
过其祖，遇其妣；不及其君，遇其臣，无咎。
She passes by her ancestor and meets her ancestress. He does not reach his prince and meets the official. No blame.
过其祖，遇其妣。越过祖父见到祖母，见不到君主却遇到臣子。无咎：此爻的智慧是接受次一级的结果。
弗过防之，从或戕之，凶。
If one is not extremely careful, somebody may come up from behind and strike him. Misfortune.
弗过防之。不肯多加防备。从或戕之凶：此爻的凶在轻忽，明明只要多小心一点就没事。
无咎，弗过遇之，往厉必戒，勿用永贞。
No blame. He meets him without passing by. Going brings danger. One must be on guard.
无咎，弗过遇之。不越过而正好遇上。往厉必戒：此爻能保住是因为守住了分寸。
密云不雨，自我西郊，公弋取彼在穴。
Dense clouds, no rain from our western territory. The prince shoots and hits him who is in the cave.
密云不雨，自我西郊。云很厚却下不了雨。公弋取彼在穴：此爻的收获要向低处求，不是向高处。
弗遇过之，飞鸟离之，凶，是谓灾眚。
He passes him by, not meeting him. The flying bird leaves him. Misfortune.
弗遇过之，飞鸟离之。错过了还要越过，鸟飞走了。是谓灾眚：此爻是全卦最重的判词。
